Design-Ur-Day: Executive Functioning Support
Our Design-Ur-Day service is executive functioning help for kids and teens, helping to develop proper student time management and a personalised study plan.
Suitable for neurodiverse learners, Realign Pro’s executive functioning coaching also includes broader life planning strategies for children aged 10 to 16.
Our executive functioning coaching service includes:
- Help designing your child’s day, week and life: Help building realistic schedules around fixed constraints (e.g., 24 hours per day or eight hours of sleep).
- School term rhythms: Properly prepare for weeks four to six of the mainstream school term.
- Prioritisation strategies for children: What to drop or simplify during high-pressure weeks. Just as we do during crazy weeks, our kids should be allowed to skip chores, pre-plan tasks to set themselves up for success, and have managed device use.
- Environment and habit design: Evaluating study space organisation, tailoring study skills development to various learning styles and suggesting sensory aids for brain breaks.
During “crazy bunny week”, the week when your children’s week fills up with projects, tests and orals, it can be challenging to help your child manage their time and deal with stress.
Our Design-Ur-Day service helps with improving executive functioning skills, empowering families to respond to chaotic periods proactively.

FAQs
Discover more about our executive functioning coaching below.
How can I help my child with executive functioning?
You can help your child improve executive functioning skills by:
- Teaching them about visual, auditory and kinesthetic cues.
- Helping them to set themselves up for success by ensuring they don’t have excuses not to start (e.g. devices not being charged, being out of exam pad paper or textbooks being misplaced).
- Introducing the concept of time budgeting, working in time blocks or the Pomodoro method.
How do you tell if you have executive dysfunction?
If you struggle to finish what you start, often experience aversion to beginning new tasks or “changing gears” or struggle with time management, you likely need executive functioning help.
What causes poor executive functioning in children?
Children imitate what is modelled and taught to them. If you didn’t model strong time management skills (like often being late), cues to initiate tasks and task management (such as alarms or making physical lists) or other executive functioning skills, your child may struggle with issues similar to yours.
Neurodiversity may also play a role in executive functioning deficits. Children on the autism spectrum, with ADD or ADHD or children with dyslexia may struggle to switch contexts (“change gears”), making starting and managing tasks extra tricky.
In both cases, developing executive functioning skills is possible. It’s never too late to model strong skills and empower yourself with executive functioning strategies.
